If you are passionate about music and love entertaining the crowd by playing and mixing music tracks, disk jockey could be a career option worth pursuing. Once considered as just a fad in India, it slowly staked its claim as a viable career with multiple options and good money to make. All you need is to have an ear for music, be well versed with cueing, equalization and audio-mixing, beat-matching, scratching and beat juggling.
A wannabe DJ must also have an outgoing personality, ability to mix with people and know their mood. He must be well versed with the music in vogue I. e. the hit songs, how to make them trendy by mixi

I would say sound engineering is a better option as it is an extensive course and has better job opportunities than a DJ certificate course. Sound engineering is a challenging field, yet very rewarding. Sound Engineers develop a high quality recording of music, speech and sound effects in studios. They use technical instruments to produce sound for film, radio, television. The potential for growth is huge for a sound engineer. Career opportunities for sound engineer and technicians are available in various fields like radio stations, tv channels, studios, multimedia design, animation, advertising firms, movies and more.
