STJIT is a private engineering college in affiliation with the Visveswaraiah Technological University and permitted by the All India Council for Technical Education, and also Karnataka Government. It's not a government college, though it is recognised and approved by the Government. Instead, it is administered by Sri Taralabalu Jagadguru Brihanmath, a religious organization.

Hii, The annual hostel fee at Sri Taralabalu Jagadguru Institute of Technology is approximately ?50,000. (affordable which is very less compare to other colleges) The institute provides separate hostels for boys and girls, with rooms that include attached bathrooms.
