Ranking top amongst the premier engineering colleges, SASTRA is a place where all the meritorious students seeks admission. They have an extensive admission process, though it is absolutely based on merit. As a student opting for enrolment in the BTech course, you must know, 70% of the total University seats are filled by addmission through stream-1. While, 30% is filled through stream-2. Stream-1 requires the applicants to have good marks in JEE as well as Higher Secondary exam. Though, 25% weightage is given to your JEE marks and 75% to your +2 marks. On the other hand, if you are a candidate applying under stream-2, your 12th Boards scores are enough for the merit list.

At SASTRA, student's welfare and wellbeing is the primary motto. That is why the institute provides different scholarships to support and encourage the stutldents to do well in their studies. Usually, there are two kinds of scholarships- Dean's Scholarship and Hostel Scholarship. Dean's scholarship is provided according to the student's CGPA. If you belong to the top 3% in the university, you become eligible for the same, whereby you will be awarded 2/5th of the semester fees. Also, students having CGPA within top 3% to 10%, the university will provide you 1/5th of the semester fees. On the other hand, you will be entitled to a Hostel scholarship, if you adhere to the following rules:You must not have been subjected to pay mess fine.Atleast 90% presence in class. (doesnot include leaves permitted).Maintaining discipline at hostel.Once you qualify the above-mentioned criteria and have a good CGPA, you will be eligible for a scholarship of Rs.16,000/-, which can reimburse your hostel lodging fee. However, the rules are not absolute and may change with time.
