I am also attending the counselling this year 2018 in Kattankulathur. 18828 is a pretty good rank for the main campus, but from what I heard from seniors is that one must have AIR 10,000 minimum for CSE in KTR campus. Other annexure campuses, you are sure to get.

To be honest you should try something else. There will be a handsome package if you are pursuing your B.Tech from CSE branch. Have a good day.

SRM University, Chennai main campus is good for BBA but don't expect much if your expectation are low than you will like it. You can find students from all cultures and States. Hostels are also available but the food is not good.

You are not getting a good branch in the best campus so try in different colleges such as DIT University, UPES, Galgotias University, Sharda University, etc.

As per your rank of 72928, your chances are very low or nil to get a seat at Ramapuram campus of SRM university. You also cannot get these courses as they are one among the widely preferred.
So you may try it in the counselling.

You have a good rank in SRMJEEE which is good enough to seek admission at SRM university main campus.
There is a scholarship for the ranks below 20000. That is you can get 2,50,000 per annum for ECE alone which is the general fee structure and for the rest 3,50,000 per annum.
Based on the scholarship you can take ECE but your interest matters a lot. Choose the one which you like as you can get your desired course.

Hi Vibhor, you can get the main campus of SRM university but it is not possible to get ECE there with a rank of 30397 but in all other campuses you can easily get ECE with your rank.
