After clearing the SSC CHSL exam, the shortlisted candidates are posted in their respective departments or posts. The SSC CHSL recruitment carries out for the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts.

The SSC CHSL exam is conducted online as computer based exam (CBE) mode. Candidates need to attempt the paper online on the computers. The answers are required to be marked on the allotted computer at the exam centre.

The marks obtained in the SSC CHSL Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams are counted for the final merit list. Final selection and allocation of Ministries/ Departments/ Offices to the candidates is made on the basis of performance of candidates in Tier 1 and Tier 2 examinations, the preference of Posts/ Departments given by them at the time of Document Verification and their performance in DV and Skill Test (Tier 3).

Yes, it is mandatory to appear for both paper 1 and 2 of SSC JE exam. Both the papers are compulsary for the SSC JE exam as the Paper 1 is conducted to shortlist the candidates for mains exam and is qualifying in nature. On the other hand, the paper 2 (mains) exam is conducted to shortlist candidates for the  Document verification.The final cut off released on the basis of the marks obtained in the paper 2 exam and the document verfication. The candidates securing the marks equal to or more than the cut off marks is considered qualified for the SSC JE exam and gets recruited as per the preferences made by the candidates.

The application fee for SSC JE exam is INR 100. However, the fee is exempted for females of all categories and candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD/ ExS. The candidates can pay the SSC JE application fee through online mode. However, the SSC provides multiple modes of online payment that are given below:BHIM UPINet Banking Visa Card , MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Credit or Debit cardEarlier, the SSC used to accept the application fees online and offline both but from 2023 onwards the SSC JE application fees can only be paid online.

The SSC JE exam is conducted in two stages -
Paper-I
Paper-II
The candidates are required to appear and clear both the stages of exam. The final merit list will be prepared after adding the marks of SSC JE paper 1 and 2.

Candidates need to score a minimum 33 per cent aggregate in SSC CHSL Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams taken together in order to qualify the exam. The aggregate score of both tiers is taken into account while shortlisting candidates for the next selection round, that is, the Skill Test.
