Apart, from the exam given there is interview round also for the selection process there are almost two tier in CGL Tier I and Tier II. The SSC selection post is done by giving computer-based exam and the other round is usually based on documemt verification. The other process is done on the basis of subjects as it includes subject wise selection and further it is done by interview round and typing test for some posts. Staff selection commision exam is a national level examination which is taken after 10+2 or after completion of the graduation. The most popular SSC exams are SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, SSC GD, SSC MTS.One can give SSC CHSL exam after 10+2 while other exams required completion of graduation. The eligibilty criteria and post offered after giving each exam is different. The salary after clearing the exam is also different. There is also typing test and personal interview rounds apart from the writen papers. It is done to recruit for the post of ministries and various departments of government of India.

No, Survey Engineering does not directly qualify you for the SSC JE exam. Eligibility criteria for SSC JE educational qualification sets the minimum requirement of a Diploma or Bachelor's degree relevant to the post you are applying for (civil engineering, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering).
