For each wrong response, the candidate loses 0.25 numbers of marks in the SSC MTS exam pattern. The exam follows a negative marking system only in Session II of the CBT that is Computer-Based Test covering areas of General Awareness and Reasoning Ability. Unsurprisingly, there is no negative marking in Session I.Students have to be very careful during their response in Session II not to miss out marks. In Session II, the total available marks are 90 and mark is given for each right answer. This system overrides guesswork in that it focuses on the accuracy of reads.
