The college admits students based on entrance exam scores, i.e., TNEA counselling and TANCET as per respective courses. Generally speaking, direct admissions to the St. Joseph's College of Engineering and Technology are not possible. Admission to the undergraduate courses in engineering, SJCE, is available through counselling based on rank obtained at the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA).
