Stanford University was established by Leland Stanford and his wife Jane Stanford in 1885, in memory of their son who died due to typhoid at an early age. Since its early days, the emphasized education in Science and Applied Engineering. It was the year 1906, in which a massive earthquake damaged the university. This incident shook San Francisco, but Stanford was rejuvenated. Stanford's extensive research and applied study of helped it gain its reputation in the post-World war era. However, they are limited in number and only be availed if the students has either a Social Security number (SSN) or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
