Both are good subjects. Economics will help you pursue a career in financial research, equity research, financial journalism whereas Statistics will give you option of pursuing a career in a range of Data Analytics related field which is in demand now a days. You need to decide on your interest areas, and then based on it choose your specialization.

This would depend on your interest areas and career aspirations. In case you intend to pursue a career in Economic/Equity research / financial journalism/academics area then M.Sc Economics is better. However, if you want to move into a career in analytics & data sciences, then the other two courses are better.

To become a data analyst, you will want to earn a degree in a subject such as mathematics, statistics, economics, marketing, finance, or computer Science. However, you can find some short term data Science courses that will help you understand the work better and master the field by taking small steps. Hi,
The combination you are wanting is what I'm pursuing presently. This is offered in many colleges like
St. Xavier's College-Mumbai and Christ-Bangalore. These are the top ones. I'm in Xavier's right now. There you need to be dropping one subject every year and you major in one of the subjects in the 3rd year. But, Xavier's does not provide economics in the 2nd or 3rd year for B.Sc Students.
