It is possible to secure a placement with a backlog in Germany, but this depends upon the university you are enrolled in. You can get a job as long as you have cleared your university backlogs before the placements.

The universities in Germany accept if you have taken a gap of 1-2 years after completing your high school education, when applying for bachelor's courses. For post-graduate courses, gap of up to 5 years is acceptable. However, keep in mind that this may differ as per your university and course of choice.

No, backlogs do not affect German visa directly. You are eligible to apply for a German student visa once you have received your admission offer from a university in Germany. Hence, if the university has accepted your backlogs, you will have no problem acquiring a German visa.

However, there are several other factors that they take under consideration, such as the overall academic percentage, work experience, GMAT/GRE scores, language proficiency scores, and more. Some German universities which accept backlogs are the Technical University of Munich, GISMA Business School, Berlin School of Business & Innovation (BSBI), SRH Hochschule Berlin, SRH Hochschule Heidelberg, and more.

On an average, most of the German universities accept up to 3 backlogs in your undergraduate degree for admissions to MS courses. Some universities may even accept up to 5 backlogs if you have impressive aptitude test scores, unique and experiential work experience of at least 2-3 years, overall average of at least 65% or above.
