IELTS exam is just a means of proving your English proficiency to the university and visa officers in Ireland. This can be done by taking standardised and internationally accepted English tests other than IELTS. On the free education part, it may be possible for students a complete fee waiver and/or living expenses support by means of scholarship or merit provided by the Irish university. But studying completely free of any costs in Ireland may be highly unlikely as there may be some other one-time registration/maintenance/enrolment charges which may be minimal but makes the education some worth rather than being completely free.&

Universities abroad require IELTS test scores from international students if they do not come from a native English-speaking country or if the students have not acquired their previous qualifications in the English language. IELTS is an internationally administered standard test of English which assesses applicants reading, listening, reading and writing skills. The test provides an overall and specialised skills scores which help universities determine whether the student (not from a native English-speaking country) will be able to manage the university lectures and their survival in the foreign country.

Yes, working part-time as a student in Ireland can be possible. This is because if you are already studying a degree course in Ireland, this means that you ahve proven your proficiency in the language both to the university and the visa officers. Hence, you are sufficient enough to converse in the language. Since the IELTS test is not a necessary requirement to work for employers in Ireland, showcasing English language proficiency through alternative methods may prove advantageous. However, some employers might still require an IELTS score based on the nature of the job.

Yes, one can get an Ireland student visa even if they do not wish to take the IELTS test. This can be done by either taking a preparatory pre-sessional English course in Ireland which further makes you eligible for a UG course without you having to take the IELTS or any other test. However, some pre-preparatory courses may also require some level of English proficiency, you must discuss the same with your university. The other means of bypassing the IELTS test for Ireland student visa is to take other English test which you can prepare for well in time.

These countries may provide free education in certain cases without needing the IELTS exam for eligibility purposes.

The IELTS exam is required wherein the international students applying to study abroad are not from a English-speaking country. Applicants need to take this test to prove their proficiency in the language to the host institutions abroad. However, some universities in the top study-abroad destinations waive the IELTS exam requirement based on several factors such as the total years of education of the student in the English language and another condition being - the student has been staying and pursuing a course in a higher institute in any of the following top locations for a period of at least a year.
