It can be very expensive to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for four years. Living expenses, tuition, and fees are all included in the overall cost. According to the academic year 2024–2025, MIT charges an undergraduate tuition of about $61,000 per year, plus an extra $2,200 in required fees. An additional $20,000 is usually spent on-campus living and eating, and between $83,000 to $85k is spent annually on books, supplies, personal expenses, and health insurance. In four years, that comes to about $330,000 to $340,000. MIT, however, provides substantial financial aid and is dedicated to affordability.
