This involves the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Counseling procedure. Candidature into JCE will be acquired through online application by those who register online at TNEA portal and give marks up to 12th Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the time of application followed by counseling conducted based upon TNEA rank of the candidates selected. Management quota seats can also be sought directly from the college through the admissions office by students. Candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria and present marksheets, identity proof, and caste certificates, if required, at the time of application.

JEC is a typical Thiruninravur, Chennai. It doesn't offer a 100% scholarship to all the students. The college offers many sorts of financial aids. Merit scholarship, fee concession for the students from the economically weaker background, and scholarships to Telugu minority students. That helps them reduce their fee burden to some extent, but there is not that much possibility of full waiver of the fee to a 100%.
