TANATA

All candidates are advised to be well-versed with the topics that they have to prepare for the TANATA Drawing section. The list of topics to be prepared are:Understanding of scale and proportion of objectsGeometric composition, shapeBuilding forms and elementsAesthetics, colour texture, harmony and contrast.Conceptualization and visualisation through structuring objects in memoryDrawing of patterns - both geometrical and abstractForm transformations in 2D and 3D like union, subtraction, rotation, surfaces and volumesGenerating plan, elevation and 3D views of objectsCreating 2D and 3D compositions using given shape and formsPerspective drawingSketching of urban-scape and landscape, Common day-to-day life objects like furniture, equipment etc.

The TANATA drawing section will be assesed by more than one examiner. The candidates will be assessed on the following parameters for the drawing section.Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and render the same in a visually appealing mannerAbility to visualise and draw the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundingsCandidate's sense of perspective drawingCombining and composing given three-dimensional elements to form a building or structural formCreating interesting two-dimensional compositions using given shapes and formsCreating visual harmony using colours in a given compositionUnderstanding of scale and proportionsDrawing from memory through pencil sketches on themes from day-to-day experiences
