To become an Income Tax Officer, one should first of all enter the Income Tax Department as Income Tax Inspector or Tax Assistant. Then, they can get promotion to the designation of Income Tax Officer after qualifying the departmental examination. 1. Do CA alongside B.Com followed by LL.B. (6 year plan, less rigorous, but time consuming)
2. Do CA/CS alongside B.A. LL.B/B.Com. LL.B. /BBA. LL.B. Depending on institute choice. (5 year plan, Most ideal, but highly rigorous, since two professional courses parallely)
3. Do just CA if not targeting practise with law firms, more suited for individual practise.
4. Do just B.A. LL.B. /B.Com. LL.B. /BBA. LL.B. , if targeting tax practise with law firms. (while CS is recommended)
