Yes, it is true that UGC NET can be cleared in the very first attempt itself. All it requires is strategy, fundamentals, and efforts. Start early. Download the exam syllabus, stick to it and do not study anything apart from it. Know the exam pattern well and get to know the marking scheme as well. Further, I would say refer to quality UGC NET study material. Coming to paper 1 specially, check out the topics and get to know what type of questions are repetitively asked from a topic. Prepare for easy & scoring topics first. Keep on revising the content. Work on speed and accuracy. Thanks.

Yes, NET qualification will help you to apply for Ph.D. from universities. UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are organized for the selection of candidate for assist professor and junior research fellows.
