The UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are one of the prestigious exam having national importance in itself. The UGC NET Exam does not guarantee you a job but you got a lot of options and opportunity to make a career in different field. After qualifying the NET exam, you need to get the E-certificate and check for the vacancies in the interested institutes. The candidates can choose one of the following option after qualifying the NET exam:
Become a lecturer in university and colleges. Get scholarship or stipend (JRF)
Become a junior scientist, research associate
get a job in PSUs

Educational: The candidates must have completed the post graduation degree with more than 55% marks. Age: The candidates must be below 30 years for the NET JRF while there is no age limit for NET lectureship. The UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are held to determine the eligibility for assistant professor posts in university & colleges. The major difference between UGC NET and CSIR NET is that CSIR NET exam is held for Science stream candidates while UGC NET exam is held for other stream candidates. The minimum eligibility to apply for the UGC NET Exam is that you must have post-graduation degree with more than 55% marks from recognized university. The candidates are allowed to apply for their post-graduation subjects only.
Paper 1 is common for all the subjects which consists 50 questions related to mental ability, reasoning and teaching aptitude etc. The Paper 2 consists subject related 100 questions. The paper 1 is held for 1 hour while paper 2 is held for 2 hours having each question of 2 marks. All the questions will be multiple choice questions. Yes, you can apply for CSIR NET Exam, if you fulfill the eligibility criteria for the exam. The CSIR NET exam is organized for the selection of candidates for assistant professor posts in the university or colleges. The candidates must have post-graduation degree with more than 55% marks from the recognized university. The graduate or final year candidates in post-graduation can also apply for the exam, however, they will get the certificate after completion of the course.
There is no age limit for the NET lectureship while the maximum age limit for NET JRF is post-graduation degree. Please read all the information from the official website before filling the online application.

Hello Goutam, National Eligibility Test (NET) is a national level exam meant for scrutinizing the expert of the knowledge required for holding the position of Lecturers/professors/ associates/ research fellows at India's reputed universities. Earlier CBSE conducted the NET exam but from December 2018 it is conducted by the National Testing Agency. UGC NET exam is conducted in approximately 81 subjects. To qualify the UGC NET exam, you have to crack NET exam which is divided into two parts I. e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. You have to score minimum marks in UGC NET which are as follow -
General Category Candidates 40 marks or 40% in Paper-I, 80 marks or 40% in Paper-II. Reserved Category Candidates 35 marks or 35% in Paper-I, 70 marks or 35% in Paper-II. Apart from that each subject has their separate cut-offs. Candidates need to achieve that target to qualify for the exam. NTA has released the subject wise official cut-offs for the NET December 2018 exam on 7th January 2019. The UGC NET 2018 Exam has been conducted from 18th December to 22nd December 2018. After completing the exam, aspirants who appeared in the exam must be seeking for the UGC NET result and the cut-off. The UGC NET Result has been released on 5th January 2019 and official cut-off has been also released by the NTA on 7th January 2019.
