The UGC NET Exam was earlier held by CBSE while NTA will be the conducting agency from December 2018. The NTA has decided to organize UCG NET Exam in completely online mode twice a year. The upcoming UGC NET Exam is scheduled as follows:
UGC NET Application form: 1 to 30 September 2018
UGC NET Admit card: 19 October 2018
UGC NET Exam Date: 18 to 22 December 2018
UGC NET Results: 10 January 2018

Hi Sayyada, The NET exam is organized for more than 84 subjects through UGC NET and CSIR NET. The Science stream candidates can apply for CSIR NET while other stream candidate can apply for UGC NET. The purpose of both exam is same that is to determine the eligibility of the candidates for assistant professor [posts in colleges and to pursue Ph.D. and for junior research fellowship. Of course, the NET will be helpful for admission in Ph.D. The NET qualified candidates are allowed to apply for the lectureship, research or Ph.D. without any exam and selected based on personal interview. The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for NET exam is post graduation degree. For NET Lectureship there is no age limit while candidates must be below 28 year for NET JRF. Please visit the official website or notification for more information in details, Hope it will help you. All the best.

Hello,Let's talk about the NET exam first. The UGC NET exam is organized for the selection of candidates for junior research fellowship and for lectureship in the universities and colleges. The UGC NET is held for more than 84 subjects and the candidates are allowed to apply for their post-graduation subject or its related subjects only. There are some eligibility criteria that candidates must fulfill as follows:
The candidates must have completed post-graduation degree with more than 55% marks from the recognized university. There are some relaxation of 5% marks for the reserved category candidates. Age of the candidates must be below 30 years for NET JRF while there is no age limit for NET lectureship.
