The MP TET examination consists of 150 questions, each of which carries one mark. Candidates do not lose marks if they answer incorrectly. To be eligible for the exam, candidates must score at least 60% of the total marks. The exam is divided into two parts, one called Paper 1 and one called Paper 2, each of which consists of 150 multi-choice questions with a maximum score of 150 marks. The content of each paper is different, so candidates must appear for the one that is related to their desired level of education.

The MP TET syllabus is revised and updated by MP PEB on a regular basis. However, the syllabus does not change drastically on an annual basis. The syllabus of the MP TET is based on the subjects covered in the Primary and Upper Primary School Curriculum. The objective of the syllabus is to test the candidates’ knowledge, understanding and pedagogical ability related to the subjects. However, minor changes or additions in the syllabus may be made from time to time depending on the development of the education sector and the demands of the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
