The IGNOU B.Ed entrance exam is a two-hour-long test conducted in offline mode and consists of two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A includes questions on General English Comprehension, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, Educational and General Awareness, and Teaching-Learning. Part B is subject-specific and includes questions based on the candidate's chosen subject, such as Science, Mathematics, Social Science, or English. The test will have 100 multiple-choice questions carrying one mark each. There is no negative marking in the exam.

Relaxation of 5% in the minimum required marks is given to reserved categories such as SC/ST, OBC, Disabled candidates, Freedom Fighter dependents and Ex-servicemen.
