Telecommunication Engineering is a good branch in RVCE. The placements of this branch comes at 4th position i.e. after CSE, ISE and ECE. The highest package from the branch, this year, was 14 LPA offered to 2 students. Communication giant such as Cisco, Airtel, Broadcom, etc come for placements for telecommunication students. Many IT companies like Deloitte, Origo, etc. hire telecommunication students at a package of 6-10 LPA. However, the faculty line up is not that good in telecommunication engineering branch. Apart from 2-3 professors, rest all are assistant professor or lecturers.

It is suggested that you complete your diploma and seek lateral entry in branch of your choice in second year of engineering. You can try Anna University for lateral entry into Automobile Engineering.

You can choose any one of them depends upon your interest however people are growing there career fastly in telecommunication but some people love the job of networking as it has less work and complications as per my knowledge.

Hello Anchil, telecommunication engineering is related to all types of communication systems we are using nowadays. It consists of wireless communication, analog and digital communication, Satellite communication, radars, antennas, optical communication, 3G/4G, mobile communications etc.

I am a telecom engineering student of BMSCE.
if you are confused whether to choose chemical or telecommunication engineering in BMSCE. i would suggest you to choose chemical engineering because
1) very strict department
2) The portions aren't finished on time and most of the time is spent on seminars and open ended experiments
3) they don't award marks easily and these marks really matter as the internal marks sums upto 50 on 100.
about chemical engineering branch in BMSCE
1) strict but excellent cooperative teachers
2)unique HOD , makes sure that the curriculum is updated
