Texas Christian University's acceptance rate stands at 43%, which makes it a moderately selective university to get into. In comparison with the Southern Methodist University acceptance rate of 52%, Texas Christian Uni can be considered more selective in its admission criteria. As listed, getting into Texas Christian University is competitive. Hence, students must excel in academics to boost their chances. Apart from this, students who are outstanding in activities outside class also stand a good chance of securing admission.

SMU has a better reputation than TCU since Dallas has a bigger name than Fort Worth. SMU is more expensive, varied with international students, and sophisticated. TCU is an excellent school, but its student body is dominated by females. TCU has a very powerful football team that competes in the Power Five Conference. SMU was once a national football force, but it never recovered from the NCAA's death sentence in the 1980s. If a student wants to go to a school with a terrific football team, TCU is the place to be.
