Tezpur University offers a total of 17 types of scholarships such as Institutional Fellowship, Inspire Scholarship, UGC merit scholarship, PG Indira Gandhi scholarships, Post-Metric Scholarship for SC, ST, and OBC students under different government schemes, Merit Cum-Means based scholarships for professional and Technical courses, Post-Metric Scholarship from the Director of Welfare of Tea and Ex-Tea Garden, AICTE scholarship for the GATE qualified students of MTech, DBT scholarship. NEC scholarship from the Director of Technical Education, etc.

Tezpur University admission is completely entrance-based. The entrance exam accepted for BTech/MTech by Tezpur University, includes JEE Main for BTech and GATE/TUEE for MTech. The university releases a cutoff list to declare the minimum scores required for selection. Candidates with marks equal to or more than the cutoff marks become eligible for admission.
