Tezpur University

The Tezpur University does not have provision for Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) course. It mainly offers science, engineering humanities and management programmes at the undergraduate as well as at postgraduate level. The most sought courses offered to the undergraduate level students include B.Sc., B.Tech, B.A., and the integrated B.A/B.Sc./B.Tech programs to departments of Science and humanities respectively.For students who wish to specialize in commerce related courses, Tezpur University has Masters degree in business administration or MBA and management courses in its post graduate programs. However, for an ordinary B.Com programme, student might have to search for other Universities or colleges in Assam which mainly offer B.Com programme. If we compare BSc at Gauhati University with Tezpur University we will see that the tuition fee of Tezpur University is more affordable than the Gauhati University. The tuition fee at Gauhati University is INR 48,000 to 1.4 Lacs while at Tezpur University it is INR 28,000 to 35,000. If we look at the coourses offered by the university Gauhati University offers more BSc courses than Tezpur University as there are more affiliated colleges providing the programme with Gauhati University than Tezpur University. GU provides 310 BSc courses while TU provides eight BSc courses.Therefore, If candidates want to compare the universities on the basis of affordability then Tezpur University is more affordable but if candidates are looking fir variety of courses than Gauhati University is better.

However, there is no difference between the fee structures of both SMVDU and Tezpur University, except for B.Tech and MBA courses, where SMVDU fees tend to be costlier than Tezpur University. Annual fees for the B.Tech course in SMVDU are found in the range of ?1.6 Lacs to ?2 lakhs, with some ?2 Lacs for MBA. In comparison, Tezpur University charges a much nominal amount of approximately ?1 Lacs annually for the B.Tech program, but this figure may increase owing to other miscellaneous fees, for instance, hostel and mess.While both may stand pretty high with respect to the academic offering, SMVDU may prove costlier chiefly in terms of its MBA fee structure.
