Yes, Thapar University a good Option to pursue liberal arts and sciences. TSLAS offers a total of 120 seats in BA/B.Sc. /BBA in Liberal Arts and Sciences in the following majors. Students can choose their major at the end of first year (second semester) of their study.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, also known as Thapar University, offers over 20 programs in the stream of Science, management, engineering, and technology. Thapar is the best for pursuing B.E. Computer Engineering. The faculty members, Placement and Infrastructure of Thapar are the best. The another reason is, the NIRF ranking of Thapar is very high. So go with Thapar.

If we talk about 2021 admissions, cutoff for CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) was above 98% but cutoff for COE (Computer Engineering) was above 96%. COE is almost equivalent to CSE with some of the subjects being different and it is the Flagship Branch of Thapar. At the time of placements CSE and COE have equal opportunities so I suggest if you are getting COE you should go for it.

Yes, you can get admission in Thapar if you also passed in 12th PCM with certain percentage usually above 60%. Keep in mind with these scores you can get admission but the branch you will get depends on the cutoff and counselling rounds. Most probable branches that would be available to you are : Civil, Mechanical, Electronics (Instrumentation and Control) Engineering, Mechatronics and Chemical. So make your decision accordingly because you won't get CSE in Thapar with 85 %ile.

Yes, there is a Punjab quota for students in Thapar University. To be eligible for this, you have to pass the required score in 12th class from a Punjab school or if you have passed the qualifying exam under any other state school but only if you provide Punjab Domicile Certificate then you are also eligible for same.
