Hi
As per my knowledge, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is one of the best engineering colleges in India if you're comparing between Thapar Institute and BITS Pilani. Amazing faculty, infrastructure, campus life, comfortable accommodation, food, and placement facilities make TIET worth it. Last year, almost 80 - 85% of students got placed with good packages in big companies like KPMG, IBM, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. Since the faculty there have a strong corporate network, Internships provided to the students are quite good. It has a dedicated training and placement cell that makes sure that every student gets an internship.

The annual fee for 1st year of B.Tech is around 3,30,000 INR, which includes Hostel Fees, Tuition Fees, Admission Fees, Alumni Fees, Examination Fees & Medical Fees. And for 2nd year it is 3,60,000. And for 3rd and 4th year it is same as of 2nd year. So the total fee for B.Tech course comes out to be around 14-15 Lac. But there are multiple scholarships available that can significantly reduce the fees. Hi, Like most of the engineering colleges, there are two criteria for getting admission in Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology. One is on the basis of your JEE score and the other one is on the basis of your 12th class percentage (PCM or PCB). The division of seats for the above two is 70% and 30% respectively. You can choose as per your suiting. The admissions for new B.Tech batch is open now. You can apply online through their website: Admissions 2020 open for B.Tech, M.Tech programme

The placement records at Thapar university have always been strong. Thapar being in the industry since the last 6 decades have a little edge over some of the colleges present in its Tier. The last 3 batches (B.Tech as I am not sure which placements record you were asking about) have been placed at some of the prominent companies. Some of the companies are there present in the fortune 500 lists as well. Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, Uber, and many more names which include Indian companies like ZEE, Yatra, ZOHO, Mahindra, etc. They all offered quite handsome packages to the students.
