LNMIIT is better than Thapar Institute of Technology for CSE, as it has great placement in CSE then Thapar Institute of Technology, and it doesn't call mass recruiters for placement, which had become culture of some private college to increase their placement statistics.

Both the colleges are equally good, but I will vote for Thapar University, Patiala because of the standard which the University has maintained since the establishment.
I will try to distinguish between both the colleges with the help of certain parameters:
ADMISSION PROCESS:Thaper University admits it's students on the basis of JEE main marks.Usually cutoff goes higher for Computer engineering (around 180).While SRM University conducts it's own examination called SRMJEE.
CAMPUS: SRM University has a very good and beautiful campus.Student intake is higher in SRM University.
PLACEMENT: Thaper University has average package of around 8 lakhs

Hi Nishant, you can not get any branch in Thapar University with this score in JEE Mains. I will suggest you to go for some good private colleges like Amity University, Shardha University, Lovely Professional University, LNCT Bhopal etc. You should also predict other possible colleges here:

Hello Reshim. First of all just relax your mind. Just ask your soul that if you appear in JEE Advanced will you be able to achieve a good rank which is sufficient for you to get into a good IIT. If the answer comes that yes I will definitely crack JEE Advanced then please go for advance and leave behind Thapar because it is more valuable then Thapar University. If you are getting a doubt that I will not be able to clear JEE Advanced for I will not be able to secure a good rank to get into IIT then and go for Thapar but simultaneously prepare for your JEE Advanced exam also. No, there is no chance for you getting admission into M.Sc chemistry in the college mentioned by you with the above secured marks. You can apply for entrance exams and try to crack them to get a job or study further.

I would suggest you to go with VIT, if you get a seat in CSE and can afford, As VIT is ranked No 1 private Institute by Indian Government 4th time in a row. Coming to placements and curriculum wise it's really excellent. There are top placement record for CSE students offering more than 40L by companies like Microsoft.
