To get admission to MSc course at TMI, students need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as prescribed by the institute. Aspirants must graduate with minimum 60% aggregate in BTech Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Nautical Technology/ Naval Architecture/ Mechanical Engineering/ Production Engineering. Else, candidates having a three-year Diploma as Deck/ Engine Room Officer or BSc in Nautical Science with a minimum of 60% average with Class I Certificate of Competency as Master/ Chief Engineer may also apply for this course. To study at an international university, they must qualify the English language in IELTs with a score of 6.5 (no element below 5.5) or equivalent.

For Tolani Maritime Institute DNS admission, candidates must have passed Class 10 or 12 with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with at least 50% marks in English. Admission to this course is done with a three-level selection process. The institute accepts a valid score of the respective entrance exam.
