One doesn't necessarily require private coaching to crack TNTET, as one could well be prepared for this test if done in the proper way. First, a thorough knowledge of the examination pattern and syllabus that comprises the subjects like Child Development and Pedagogy, Language, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies must be taken up.

One must start preparing for the TNTET at least 6 to 8 months prior to the date of the examination. It will give a lot of time to study the whole syllabus, practice the previous years' papers, and give mock tests. First of all, get an idea about the exam pattern and the marking scheme. Focus on core subjects including Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and other important topics. Continuous study and revision along with proper time management are vital. Start with a strong foundation and then gradually take up advanced topics and practice them sufficiently to build confidence.

NCERT books can be beneficial for the aspirants in the initial days of preparation, especially for paper 1. However, it will not cover all the topics in detail. Sometimes TNTET exam covers a wide range from all topics and may the NCERT book will not cover the topics in depth. Therefore, the candidates are advised to go through the detailed books and other study materials. Additionally solving previous years' question papers are taking mock tests can also be helpful in preparing for the TNTET exam.
