Candidates who qualify the TNTET  exam are considered eligible for Primary and Upper Primary Level teacher posts in the state of Tamil Nadu. If a candidate forgets his/her application number then he/she can retrieve the application number from the official website.To retrieve the application number for the TNTET the candidates have to follow the steps given below:Go to the official website.Click on the forgot password link.Fill out the registered number or e-mail id. Click on the submit button.The board will send the application number and the password correction link in the mail/mobile number.Reset the password and log into the registered account.

Clearing the TNTET exam does not mean a guaranteed job to any candidate. It is just an eligibility exam post which, you can apply for the post of teacher in the schools of Tamul Nadu. The candidates have to appear for the recruitment exams in order to get the teacher's job. The recruitment is done by the State Pblic Service Commission. The qualified candidates will be offered two positions that are: primary teachers (class 1 to 5) and upper primary teacher (class 6 to 8).

TNTET certificate is now valid for a lifetime. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) recommended extending the State TET and CTET certificate validity to lifetime. The discussion in this regard was done during the 50th General Body meeting of NCTE held on 29 September 2020. During the meeting, the Council discussed a number of issues and one of the main topics of discussion was the extension of certificate validity of the TET exam to lifetime.
