The eligibility criteria for getting admission into B.Tech TMI is as follows:-Qualifying the entrance test - IMUCET and TMISAT is mandatory.Candidate must have completed the senior secondary examination (12th class) or equivalent with atleast 60% in PCM and atleast 50% in English in either class 10th or class 12th.For the 2023 batch, male candidates born on or after 1st September 2002 are eligible. Female candidates should be born on or after 1st September 2000. There is also a two-year age relaxation for female candidates.The candidates should be unmarried.The candidate has to meet the minimum physical fitness and medical criteria laid down by the University.

TMI is one of the largest Maritime Institute and is  famous because of it's well and systematic training structure. It gives both practical and theoretical exposure. It has good facilities and infrastructure which benefits the individuals. Facilities like Hostel, library, sports are there for the students. It is an advantage for the sports person as the Institute has Cricket ground, football ground, lawn tennis, swimming pool, Basketball , Gym and Indoor games. It offers good placement opportunities for the eligible students. It has hostel facility benefitting the outside students to stay in the campus. Tolani Maritime Institute is affiliated with IMU and was established under the Tolani Group. Tolani offers undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, and other courses to students across Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, and various other streams. It is a private college that is ISO certified. Though it's a private college, the degree given by the college is recognised everywhere in India.
