Admission to the B. Des programme at UCEED 2024 participating colleges will be on the basis of UCEED 2024 merit rank. So, candidates with a higher rank will get preference in the seat allotment process. The admission committee will also consider the college option opted by the candidate and their order of priority. Note that to get a merit rank in UCEED 2024, candidates must have qualified Part A. In case the candidate fails to qualify Part A, his or her Part B answer booklet will not be evaluated.

The participating institutes of UCEED 2025 will take part in the Joint Admission Process (or counseling) conducted by IIT Bombay. These institutes will offer admission to the B. Des programs strictly based on UCEED scores. Currently, there are six UCEED 2025 participating institutes that has a combined intake capacity of 225 seats. On the other hand, the result-sharing institutes will not participate in the Joint Admission Process conducted by IIT Bombay. These institutes will instead conduct counseling at an institute level; candidates need to apply directly to these institutes based on their UCEED scores.

Note that the Part B question paper is not evaluated unless the candidate qualifies Part A. Further, only such candidates who have qualified Part A are shortlisted and are allocated a merit rank. In case of candidates who have failed to qualify Part A of UCEED 2023, they are not issued any merit rank. Their scorecard merely includes Part A scores. In case of candidates who are shortlisted and are issued a merit rank, they can participate in UCEED 2023 and seat allotment.
