Of course, there is a difference. NID exam is for entrance in NID while UCEED is for admission in IITs.

Yes, it is true. There is an age criterion to be eligible to apply for CEED. If you are beyond that age, you cannot apply.

Appear for JEE Main. It is more important than UCEED, because if you want to get into an engineering college, then consider JEE Main.
