To be admitted to the BTech programme at UEM Kolkata, students must meet the minimum qualifying standards. Applicants for this course must have passed their Science stream in Class 12. A valid result from UEM Kolkata's internal entrance test is accepted for admission to the BTech program. In order to admit qualified candidates to its engineering disciplines, the college administers the IEMJEE. Admission to the BTech programme at UEM Kolkata would be extended to those who pass this exam with a valid score.

Admission to BCA is based on IEMJEE score followed by a counselling round. A pass in Class 10 and Class 12 with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Application/ Business Mathematics with at least 60% aggregate is required to apply for BCA course.

Candidates who hold a UG degree of either Engineering/ Science or Management are eligible to apply for MBA admission at UEM Kolkata. Admission to this course is entirely entrance-based. Candidates must qualify for CAT/ MAT/ WB JEMAT or any other state/ national-level entrance exam. Apart from that, candidates can also apply via a valid score of IEM CET, which is conducted by UEM itself. Candidates who qualifies for IEMCET will be exempted from other entrance exams. Further, the shortlisted candidates will be evaulated in the final round process, where they have to appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.

No, candidates who have qualified CAT/ MAT/ WB JEMAT/ IEMCET need to appear for GDPI round. Candidates who have qualified CAT/ MAT/ WB JEMAT with at least 85 percentile can appear directly for GDPI round. However, candidates with score less than 85 percentile, need to first appear for the UEM Entrance Test followed by a GDPI round. A pass in graduation with at least 60% aggregate & above in Science/ Management (70% aggregate & above for Engineering) is required to apply for MBA and part-time MBA course. Students must qualify IEMJEE for admission to B.Tech, BCA and BBA. The university also accepts national or state-level entrance exams like CAT/ MAT/ JEMAT for MBA, WBJEE for B.Tech and WB JECA for MCA. For Ph.D. candidates must hold NET/ SET/ GATE scorecards for admission. GDPI may also be conducted for admission to a few courses.
