The NTA postponed the UGC NET Dec session exam for January 15, 2025 due to Pongal, Makar Sankranti and other festivals. The revsied dates were released by the NTA. Now, the January 15 exam will be conducted on January 21 and 27, 2025 in a single shift on both days. That is on January 21, the UGC NET Dec exam will be held in the morning shift from 9 am to 12 pm and on January 27, it will be conducted in the afternoon shift from 3 pm to 6 pm. The detailed schedule is available on the official website and also on this page.

The December session exam dates for UGC NET 2024 are January 3 to January 27, 2025. The authority released the UGC NET 2024 notification on November 19, 2024, on the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The UGC NET 2024 exam was cancelled due to compromise in the integrity of the exam. The information of the compromise was provided by the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs on the Examination. the investigation of the UGC NET exam compromise has been handed over to the Crime  Bureau of Investigation (C.B.I). The new exam date for the UGC NET exam will be shared soon.

On October 27, 2023, the UGC NET application deadlines were extended. Candidates have until October 31, 2023, to submit an application for the UGC NET exam. Candidates requested an extension of the application deadline because they were unable to complete the form for the UGC NET December cycle exam because of technical issues with the official website. But even after October 31, a lot of applicants continued to ask for an extension of the application period since they were still having technological difficulties and couldn't complete the form. However, the application period concluded on October 31, 2023, and it was not reopened.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) and University Grants Commission (UGC) have not recommended a dress code for taking the UGC NET. Nevertheless, prior to taking the exam, candidates are recommended to do the following:Dress code: No shoes or shoes with heavy soles are acceptable for candidates.
