National Eligibility Test (NET) is a national level exam meant for scrutinizing the expert of the knowledge required for holding the position of Lecturers/professors/ associates/ research fellows at India's reputed universities. Earlier CBSE conducted the NET exam, but from December 2018 it is conducted by the National Testing Agency. UGC NET exam is conducted in approximately 81 subjects. To qualify the UGC NET exam, you have to crack NET exam which is divided into two parts i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. You have to score minimum marks in UGC NET which are as follow -

Hello Malathi,The UGC NET 2018 Exam has been conducted from 18th December to 22nd December 2018. And NTA released the UGC NET Result on 5th January 2019 and official cut-off has been also released by the NTA on 7th January 2019. The UGC NET Exam was organized for 84 subjects and the cut off marks is different for different subject. Hello,
To appear in the UGC NET Exam there are some eligibility criteria. A per the UGC NET you must have post-graduation in the relevant subject with at least 55 % marks. There is no age limit to appear in the UGC NET Exam- https://medium.com/@rs2056694/cbse-ugc-net-2018-age-limit-exam-pattern-and-other-changes-you-must-check-out-166ee4b828e0 but to apply for the Fellowship programme you need to be not more than the age limit of 30 years (35 years for the candidates from the Reserved CAT. Hi Lav, The minimum eligibility to appear for UGC NET exam is post-graduation degree with 55% marks for general category candidates. The ST/SC and other reserved category candidates are offered relaxation and required to have 50% marks in master's degree. As you do not complete the educational qualification you are not eligible to apply for the UGC NET Exam.

Hello Raj,
Yes, you can appear for the UGC NET, if you fulfill the eligibility criteria of the exam. You should have completed post-graduation with minimum 55% aggregate marks (for General) or 50% aggregate marks (for OBC/SC/ST/PwD) from the UGC Approved University. If you want to apply for the JRF NET exam than your age must not exceed 30 years (for General) or 35 years (for OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Women). For Assistant Professor there is no age criteria, you can apply whenever you want. If you fulfill all that requirements then you are eligible for the NET exam.

Hello,
According to the UGC NET exam guidelines, candidates who have completed Masters' degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks from any UGC approved university or are in the qualifying year of post-graduation can apply for the NET exam. So, if you are in the final year of post-graduation, you can surely appear for the exam. If you want to apply for JRF NET then your age must not exceed than 28 years.

Hi Ambika,It is good that you are post graduate in Mathematics and B.Ed. As a qualified post graduate, you are eligible to appear UGC NET Examination in Mathematics, because, your post-graduation subject is Mathematics. Another thing is that you should have more than 55% marks in Master's degree. If you have 55% marks, then cheer up and try for UGC NET.
