It is not as tough as you think, if you go with a planned approach, you can clear it. The most important thing is that, there is no negative marking. You don't have to worry about wrong answers or doubtable questions. If you are preparing for lectureship, the age limit criteria is not the mandatory, but in JRF, age limit is mandatory (maximum 28 years for general and maximum 33 years for OBC/ST/SC/PWD), so work hard to qualify the NET exam.The NET Exam is conducted in two phases U

You are not eligible for the UGC NET Exam right now. You need to complete the Master's degree first to appear in UGC NET Exam.
The UGC NET exam is conducted for the junior research fellowship award or assistant professor.
The educational qualification for the UGC NET Exam is Master's degree with minimum 55% marks from recognized university.

Age Limit
For JRF (NET): Maximum 28 years as on 01st January 2017 (upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer)/ Persons with disability (PwD) and female applicants)
For LS (NET): No upper age limit
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have M. Sc or equivalent degree/Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/B Tech/B Pharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for general and OBC-Non Creamy layer candidates (Central list only as provided in National Commission for Backward Classes website) and 50% for SC/ST, Persons with disability (PwD) candidates
