Yes, you are eligible to appear in the UGC NET exam. Yes, you are eligible to appear for UGC NET exam. But, as per the UGC guidelines, you have to complete your post-graduation within 3 years of time period, because if you qualify the exam and not qualified the exam within limited time, then in this case your certificate will be disqualified. NTA conducts the UGC NET twice in a year in a month of June and December. UGC NET follows the exam pattern as follows:
Paper is divided into two parts Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1: Paper is consisting of 100 marks for 50 questions. There is no negative marking. Paper 2: Paper is consisting of 200 marks for 100 questions. There is no negative marking. Below I am sharing some of the best books for UGC NET Commerce.

According to the NTA guidelines, aspirants have to choose the same or the related subject in which they have completed their post-graduation. As you have completed your post-graduation in sustainable energy, you are eligible to appear in the UGC NET Environmental Science and the code no. Is 89.
