Yes, but management subject is also available for UGC NET. It would be better for future to choose the same PG subject.

Yes, you can apply for subjects other than your Masters. UGC NET JRF examination is conducted in two papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is General Paper for all disciplines whereas Paper 2 is explicitly designed on the subjects you choose while filling up the examination form.

The subject code for Environmental Science is 89 in UCG NET. To qualify for the NET exam in Environmental Science, you have to pass Papers 1 and 2. For Paper 1, any good aptitude book by either KVS Madan, Arihant Experts, or Harpreet Kaur will do. The books recommended for environmental Science are as follows:
1. Introduction to Environmental Engineering by Gilbert M. Masters
2. Statistical Method by S. P Gupta
3. Environment Chemistry by Stanley E. Manahan
4. Environment Ecology by E. P ODUM
5. Principles of Biochemistry Voet, Pratt and Voet

No, graduates are not eligible to apply for the UGC NET exam. Only postgraduates can fill the UGC NET application form. However, if you are appearing in or awaiting results for the final year exams of M.A. Degree, you can apply for the exam.

Some tips for the Preparation are following :-
Spend as much time as you can on preparation. A minimum of 3 to 6 hours is essential in a day. A minimum of 2 to 4 months of preparation is mandatory while appearing for competitive exams like the UGC NET Examination. The most important aspect of preparation is covering all topics; do not leave any out, and if you believe a topic is difficult, try to cover it first. You can also apply for the Ph.D. courses at the state and central universities. You can also apply for assistant professor posts at state and central universities. If there are no job openings in the government sector, you can also go to private and deemed-to-be universities, which of course pay handsome salaries because you clear the NET. Teach online or offline coaching to people advancing from Bachelor's to master's degrees, as well as students preparing for NET exams.

Yes, of course, it is possible to crack the UGC NET Exam in one year. The UGC NET exam consists of two papers, paper 1 is a general paper, and paper 2 is a subject-specific paper. Both papers contain 10 units each. Marks are not equally distributed among units. There are no negative marks for both paper. You should give equal importance to both papers. Because getting 90 percent marks on one paper without qualifying for the second paper is worthless. Know the syllabus then start study from easy topics.
