To work part-time undergraduate students are allowed to work for a maximum of 15 hours/week and postgraduate students are allowed to work for a maximum of 20 hours/week when the classes are in session. During their vacations and summer holidays, they are allowed to work full-time. However, if the course is below the UK degree level (e.g. foundation or pre-sessional English), students are allowed to work for 10 hours per week.

Yes, if you have scored 70 - 80% or above in English in CBSE/CISCE 12th board exams, for undergraduate courses, and for postgraduate courses a CBSE/CISCE English score of 80% or above with an MOI letter confirming that English is the teaching language of your college/institution/university. The IELTS exam is used to check one's English language skills to write, read, speak & Listen. The majority of the universities in English Speaking countries like the USA, Australia, Canada & New Zealand ask for the IELTS score for admission. Indian students who are planning to Study abroad need to take IELTS.

An overall score of 7.5 is required for IELTS with 7.0 in all skills. For TOEFL, an overall score of 103 is required with R = 24, L = 22, S = 25, and W = 24 in each section. If you belong to a country where English is not the official language, then you need to provide proof of your English-language proficiency through IELTS, TOEFL, etc. They are mandatory exams for those students whose first language is not English.
