There is no application fee to apply online to the University of Hamburg. However, international students are required to send only verified academic transcripts by uni-assist. The uni-assist charges EUR 75 per application each semester. This fee is subject to vary each year. Also, if your transcripts are verified by a German authority then you do not need VPD from uni-assist.

In the winter semester of 2021/22, a total of 43,587 students were enrolled out of which approximately 5,949 were international students. Yes, the University of Hamburg is free for international students. For the majority of its programs, the university does not charge any tuition fees. Besides, the university offers a number of scholarships to international students and hence making it one of the most affordable for international students. The majority of the publicly funded universities in Germany are tuition-free for all, including international students. However, international students are required to pay other fees such as registration and monthly pass etc.
