So, for the US-specific rankings, this university ranked among the Top 200 Universities in the US. In the World University Rankings 2025, UofH ranked at #401-500 position. In the Global Universities category, the university ranked at #421 in the Best Global Universities category.

Coming at No. 44 among public schools, UH is recognised for its outstanding academics, affordable cost and strong career prospects for graduates. It is the largest public research university in Houston and one of the largest universities in Texas. Also, this university is the second most ethnically diverse major research university in the US. Along with the tuition students must make a budget that involves insurance costs, hostel costs, and miscellaneous expenses. As per the fee breakdown, the estimated insurance cost ranges between INR 1.7L and INR 3.2L, the Hostel range is between INR 4.8L and INR 6.7L, and miscellaneous expenses can be INR 18K or vary as per the person's preference.
