The University of Illinois Springfield is a public university located in Springfield Illinois. It was founded as Sangamon State University by the Illinois General Assembly in 1969 and later became a part of the University of Illinois system on Jul 1, 1995. It is one of the most preferred public universities among international students coming to the United States for higher education.
