General merit-scholarships of UMBC do not require a separate application and students shall be automatically reviewed for the merit scholarship, provided the timely submission of the application. Incoming first-year students are advised to submit their admissions applications by the Early Action application deadline which was in Early Nov 2024.

International students must aim to score a minimum cumulative GPA of 3 or above on the 4-pointer scale. The minimum score does not show that the students will get the entry with this minimum mark. Students must achieve much more than that to grab a place in UG or PG programs. Along with the GPA score, students must perform well in academics and prove their English language proficiency.
