Both universities are good in own way you choose to your priority based so I give some points in given below it help to choose right to your priority.1.if you choose columnbia this programme is reserch oriented and provide to you varieties of laps and projects. And if you choose ummass it is mainly focused on research specially with tha state of arts like database and ai If you choose umass Amherst if reaserch important for you so you chosee this university And also if you focus on networking and easy to access to industry and you can afford it To choose to your priority based.

As per unofficial sources, UMass Boston acceptance rate is around 83%, whereas, that of UMass Amherst is around 58%. This shows that UMass Amherst is more selective at the time of admission. UMass Amherst may have a stronger reputation due to its rankings. In the National University rankings, UMass Amherst ranks at #58 and UMass Boston ranks at #214. Both universities offer a wide range of programs. UMAss Amherst is well known for Business, Engineering, and STEM courses. Whereas, UMass Boston is known for its Business Administration, Business Analytics, and Computer Science courses.

Yes, UMass Boston is a STEM-designated course. This means that international students who graduate from the course can extend their 12-month Optional Practical Training (OPT) period by an additional 24-months, allowing them to work in the U.S. for up to 3 years after getting their degree.
