International students who wish to study at the University of Miami must have at least 3.6 GPA on a scale of 4.0 to get admission to the university. The University of Miami admissions are highly competitive for international students because of high acceptance rate. Therefore, students are required to have good academic profile.

The university provides 132 bachelors' degree programs, 148 master's degree programs, and 67 doctoral level programs out of which 63 are research/scholarship based and other four deals with professional areas of study. The fields include Business, Science, Engineering, etc. At present, University of Miamia has 3,226 faculty members out of whom 98 percent hold doctorate degrees in their field. With 16,000 plus full and part-time working faculty and staff, the university has been regarded as a top 10 employer in the country Miami-Dade County.

The main campus the University of Miami is spread over an area of 239 acres and is situated in Coral Gables. Most of the academic programs of the university are organized on the main campus which is home to 7 schools and 2 colleges. The first-year residents living in University of Miami campus are enrolled in 7 day all access plan. The plan increases the dining variety and value offered by the dining halls by providing unlimited access. Upper-class students living on campus in Mahoney, Pearson, Eaton, or Stanford may opt between the 7 Day All Access Plan, 5 Day All Access Plan, or the 125 Block Plan. Upper-class students living in Lakeside Village Apartments, University Village Apartments, or commuting may choose from any available meal plan.

University of Miami offers on-campus housing in four residential colleges, lakeside village and the university village for over 4,000 UM undergraduate students. The accommodation comprises fully furnished single and double rooms in all facilities, each room and apartment bedroom is air-conditioned and equipped with a bed, dressed, desk, chair, trash can, etc.

The average salary was recorded at USD 56,000 (INR 46.58 lakh) and the overall median salary was USD 59,000 (INR 49.08 lakh).
