University of Pennsylvania is ranked at #12 according to the QS World University Rankings 2024 and is ranked #16 according to the Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2024. Comparatively, Pennsylvania State University is ranked lower than University of Pennsylvania. According to the QS World University Rankings, Penn State University is ranked at #93 in 2024.

The University of Pennsylvania has only one main campus in Philadephia. The main campus of UPenn covers 299 acres of land. The Wharton School has a satellite campus in San Fransisco. The UPenn campus is vibrant and culturally diverse giving international students a very comfortable stay.

UPenn's College Houses have two rates and the cost of rooms varies depending on the type of room selected. For the 2024/25 academic year, the room rate for all first-year student rooms is USD 12,640/INR 10.50L per year. Meanwhile, the upperclass rooms have two room rates; USD 12,640/INR 10.50L and USD 16,580/INR 14L per year depending on the room type selected. The cost of living on the campus of UPenn varies from individual to individual. Therefore, international students should query about the housing costs at the University of Pennsylvania. *USD/INR = 83.11

The University of Pennsylvania accommodation and housing services offer a place to live for more than 5,500 undergraduate students on campus. UPenn has 12 undergraduate college houses and Samson Place. The university houses are divided into three categories; the First-year, Four-year and Upperclass. Besides, international students can also choose to live off-campus, there are a number of affordable housing options.

International students on F1 visas are permitted to work on-campus for not more than 20 hours every week when the classes are going on. They will get USD 7.25 per hour. Also, during term breaks, they are allowed to work up to 40 hours every week. To work off-campus they will need admission work permission.
