All the overseas students applying to the University of San Francisco must fulfill certain admission requirements in order to secure a spot in the university for their higher studies. At the University of San Francisco, if English is the candidate's native language or if the majority of their education has not been taught in English, they are required to submit a proof of their English proficiency as part of their application. USF accepts official results TOEFL,  IELTS and Duolingo. However, if the candidate can fulfill any condition listed below, they do not need to submit their English language proficiency (ELP) scores:SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score is 560 or higher; ORACT English score is 22 or higher; ORPredicted or final IBHL English A score is 5 or higher (English B is not eligible for a waiver); ORCandidate has received a 6 or higher on their English GCSE exam; ORCandidate has received an A or B on their First Language English IGCSE exam; ORCandidate has received an A or B on an English O Level exam (e.g. Singapore-Cambridge, CAIE, etc.); ORCandidate has received an A or B in an English Composition I or II course taken at a U.S. regionally accredited college or university.Note: USF reserves the right to make exceptions to these proficiency requirements or waive submission of required official test results when considering a student for admission.

At the University of San Francisco, students can apply to the university either through Common Application, USF's Direct Application or the Coalition Application on the university's website and a non-refundable sum of $55 application fee is required at this institution.
