It is great to receive a call from University of Petroleum and Energy, Dehradun, which is the best institution and doing well in terms of placements and getting a number of companies. You can prefer it, your career will be great with power management courses.

Placements are decent in UPES. It's not very different from the placements from other colleges. However, a lot of people in the college do get in the core companies which is a good thing.
As far as the petroleum placements are concerned, the average placements packages are more or less similar to other branches, however there is a chances you can secure a very high package provided to intern at a core company like Schlumberger or Cairn India. A lot depends on your GPA if you are in Petroleum engineering in UPES.

Their is no coaching centre especially for UPESEAT in Chandigarh.

UPES is a decent option if you are unable to crack JEE Mains and entrance examination of top private engineering colleges. The placements has decent placement record.

UPES ROI is not good. Check fee and average placement first. UPES is a good institute but average placement package is not good.

You can concentrate on the following areas like:
1. MS.
2. Industrial engineering from NITIE – Bombay.
3. MBA production and operations management.
4. MBA in marketing.
Apart from technical side, you can concentrate on MS in tool design and metro engineering that are advance topics under mechanical side.
